Foreign Language Assistant

£10.45 per hour

Strood, Kent

The Leigh Academies Trust

About the role: Leigh Academies Trust are excited to announce a fantastic Foreign Language Assistant vacancy; this is a great opportunity for fluent Spanish speakers to add further capacity to our central MFL Improvement Team.

The Foreign Language Assistant must offer Spanish and will be required to work with individuals and small groups of GCSE students, ensuring that they are exposed to a high quality of spoken and written language. This position is ideal for those seeking to embark on teacher training for September 2020 as this role offers first-hand experience and exposure to the modern foreign languages curriculum, classroom teaching and the opportunity of working directly with our teaching staff, or those seeking a consistent part-time role to fit around other commitments.

The FLA will work across a number of LAT academies including Longfield and The Hundred of Hoo Academy (i.e one day per week at each - 7 hours per day). The successful candidate will join us as soon as possible and will work a minimum of 2 days per week, with the scope to increase to 3-4 days in due course. You must have access to your own car as travel between sites is expected (this will be reimbursed in line with LAT's expenses policy).

Working with Leigh Academies Trust: As of September 2019, our Trust is comprised of 25 geographically organised academies (11 secondaries, 13 primaries and 1 special) educating over 15,000 students, and employing over 2,500 talented staff. The Trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North West Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway. In addition, the Trust is responsible for one of the region’s biggest initial teaching training providers and a large teaching school.

As part of Leigh Academies Trust you will have ample opportunity to collaborate with your peers both within the academy and across the whole Trust. This is an important part of our vision as we know through experience that we perform better when we work together.
