Credit Controller | Mid Kent | £20,000 - £23,000

Our client a highly successful business, part of a larger UK wide Group are looking for a Credit Controller to join their team. The successful candidate will have good communication skills, a professional appearance and be trustworthy and diligent with previous experience in a Credit Control role.

The Credit Controller will develop rapport with customers to minimise any bad debt risk. They will be responsible for maintaining their relevant debt ledger and working in a team to ensure all credit control duties are completed.

Key responsibilities will include:

Maintaining ledgers and allocating cash, invoices, credits and journals making sure they are all processed correctly. All adjustments are to go through the supervisor. Sale ledger refunds are only processed with authorisation from the customer and Finance Manager.

Posting daily cash ensuring it is allocated correctly to remittance advices received and daily downloads of banking’s extracted from Barclay.net.

Reconciling all batches back to daily banking’s (Bacs list, cheques received, credit card receipts).
Processing credit card transactions in line with internal procedures making sure they are adhering to regulations.

Answering telephone calls and handling in a professional and efficient manner. Following internal processes and procedures.

Covering sickness and leave; ensuring account opening processes in absence of the Account Sales Administrator. Performing credit checks using Equifax in absence of the Accounts Sales Administrator.

General admin duties to include; completing customers excel statements/consolidated invoices in a timely manner according to the customers’ requirements. Producing weekly copy invoices and forwarding to customers. Reviewing drivers cashing in sheets to ensure drivers cash collection process is correctly followed.
