Maidstone Borough Council

We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual with a comprehensive technical knowledge and understanding of the housing development and acquisitions process, to join the Regeneration and Economic Development Team in the role as Housing Acquisitions Officer. This post is part-time (22.5 hrs per week) on a permanent contract.

You will support and assist the Housing Delivery Manager to actively seek out new business opportunities, to secure the delivery of a variety of high-quality housing schemes of mixed tenure in Maidstone, including new-build and refurbishment projects.

This role will support the delivery of the Council’s ambitious plans to build our own property asset portfolio, including the delivery of the Council’s own social rented affordable housing programme on small sites across the Borough.

With proven, recent experience working within a development team, you must have a proven track record of site identification and acquisition, carrying out site appraisals and submitting offers, project management, working with consultants and contractors and delivering residential development projects on budget and to time. Experience in using Proval (or similar viability software) is crucial.

Meticulous and thorough in your approach, you will have excellent attention to detail and the ability to compile and record relevant data, prepare documentation and generate reports for Committee approval.
