About the role: Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School has an exciting opportunity to appoint a Cover Supervisor to join their dedicated team and to provide full support to the staff and students. The successful candidates will ensure the good behaviour of our students and make sure students engage in their learning during short-term absence of teachers. Cover work will be supplied wherever possible for you to use as a basis for the lessons and we will also determine your subject specialisms with you as a preference. Excellent interpersonal skills are required for this post as our successful candidate needs to demonstrate that they can build good rapport with staff and students alike. This post is ideal for graduates with an interest in developing a career in teaching as the experience you can gain from this is first-hand, and also those who may have had experience within the education sector beforehand.

Please note that whilst previous experience within an education environment is desirable, full training will be provided for successful candidates.

The successful candidate will be likely to fit the following profile:

Have previous experience of working in a school environment or working with children / young adults in some capacity

Working with us: Sir Joseph Williamson’s Mathematical School is an 11-18 Boys’ Grammar School of 1,300 students, including 350 in our co-educational Sixth Form. Working with Leigh Academies Trust: As of January 2020, our Trust is comprised of 25 geographically organised academies (11 secondaries, 13 primaries and 1 special) educating over 15,000 students, and employing over 2,500 talented staff.
