The Division of Natural Sciences is seeking to appoint an inspirational educator and role model as a Lecturer in Biological Sciences. We are looking for a dedicated scholar who is keen to make a strong contribution to teaching, scholarship and professional practice across our Biosciences programmes.

We particularly invite applications from candidates with backgrounds and significant experience in cancer and/or neuroscience to apply their knowledge in complementing and enhancing our existing strengths to help shape and contribute to the delivery of the Biosciences undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes.

Previous teaching experience is highly important for this role. The post holder will work closely with colleagues across the subject area, Division and University to deliver, review, and develop our undergraduate programmes in-keeping with modern research and understanding.

The post will be based at our beautiful Canterbury campus in the heart of Kent.

As Lecturer in Biological Sciences you will:
Undertake teaching of both undergraduate and postgraduate students
Supervise undergraduate and MSc research projects
Contribute to the active scholarship and innovation group within the Division of Natural Sciences, working with a team of committed individuals across a range of subject disciplines to enhance pedagogical practice and scholarship within our degree programmes
Collaborate with colleagues on course development, delivery and assessment, taking on appropriate management and administrative responsibilities

The School of Biosciences is a vibrant environment that combines teaching and research. Our degree programmes are accredited by the Royal Society of Biology, with our BSc in Biomedical Science also accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science. In the recent Good University Guide (The Times), Kent was rated 27th in the UK for Biological Sciences and in the 2021 National Students Survey 85% (Biology and Biomedical Science) and 95% (Biochemistry) of students were satisfied with quality of their course.
