Venrec are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client based in Swale, Kent for a Coachbuilding Assistant and Tours Operative. This is an excellent opportunity to join a hard working family business where there is the opportunity to develop and progress.

This position is varied and has two main aspects, the duties of these two aspects include, but are not limited to:

Tours Operative:

- Ensuring that the promotional and educational tours run smoothly and efficiently
- Visiting various venues (schools, festivals, events, etc.) throughout the UK with the vehicle, ensuring that it arrives on time, safely and looking fantastic
- Ensuring that the vehicle is properly maintained while it is on tour and that it is always looking its best
- Dealing directly with the clients representatives, therefore excellent communication skills are needed

Coachbuilding Assistant:

When you are not on tour you will be working as a Coachbuilding Assistant in our clients busy workshop. This will entail:

- Assisting with refurbishments, restorations and repairs to buses
- This will include: re-trimming and upholstery of seats, carpentry, body fabrications, electrical, plumbing etc. Our client has a team of very experienced engineers which means there will always be someone around to assist.

A successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

- HGV/PSV licence
- No more than 6 points or a DD or DR
- A valid Digital Tachograph
- Be willing to be away from home for a few days if needed, when out with the vehicle on tour
- A basic knowledge of coachbuilding skills and/or a willingness to learn when in the workshop
- Being well presented and having excellent communication skills is essential
- The applicant will need to be physically fit

The basic salary for this position is £25,000 depending on experience but may be flexible for the right candidate

On top of this our client offers a generous package where exhibition days are paid at a rate of £150 per day, plus £25.00 over night subs and hotel accommodation
