Based in the stunning setting of the Precincts of Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustine’s Abbey – a World Heritage Site – The King’s School is one of the oldest and most prestigious Schools in the country with an enviable record of academic excellence and achievement.

The King’s School require a Mechanical and Electrical Assistant to work 40 hours per week, all year round, to support the Mechanical and Electrical Team in the ‘day to day’ operations around the School, including the Junior School and other King’s sites.

Reporting to the Premises Team Leader key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• To carry out PAT testing of electrical equipment as directed by the M&E Supervisor and School Electricians, contributing to a comprehensive annual programme of testing (to include pupil’s equipment).
• To assist the School Electricians with the changing of light lamps and other routine electrical work that they deem appropriate for the post holder to undertake.
• To assist with the implementation of the Legionella Control Written Scheme including cleaning of thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs), cleaning of shower heads, temperature monitoring and flushing of little used outlets.

The successful candidate will be required to work closely with other departments around the School and will need to build good working relationships in a professional manner. A good understanding of Health and Safety related statutory legislation would be desirable.
