Job Title: Senior Case Handler

Salary: up to £25,000 DOE

Location: North Kent (Bromley)

Pearson Whiffin are seeking a Senior Case Handler to join the busy re-mortgage team of a successful client based in North Kent.

This role involves working to clear SLAs carrying out as many investigations of Title as possible in a day, identifying, addressing, and dealing with any issues that arise, and then liaising with the customer to advise the best ways forward and taking further instruction.

Duties include:

* Fully understanding and working within the re-mortgage process, including the principles of Transfer of Equity.
* Understanding the difference between tenures and dealing with them appropriately. Understanding the implications of occupied properties and managing appropriately.
* Preparing and sending all documentation in line with SLAs and customer lender requirements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Carrying out Land Registry searches, checking Legal Titles, Official Copies and plans, identifying and addressing any issues. Identifying and checking all relevant clauses in Leases.
* Requesting, interpreting and dealing with Provision and Final Redemption Statements.
* Understanding mortgage offers, identifying and advising on relevant conditions.
* Calculating and advising on Stamp Duty amounts. Taking EPDQ payments.
* Dealing with Restrictions, Cautions and Unilateral Notices.
* Understanding and dealing with Deeds of Postponements.
* Ensuring customers are aware of any shortfalls and Early Repayment Charges, advising on how to manage shortfalls and look for sources of funding.
* Requesting OS1 and processing.
* Answering queries from Technicians and Case Handlers.
* Assisting with training junior staff.



The successful candidate will have:

* Previous experience in either a property, legal, banking or mortgage environment, with good knowledge of mortgage and remortgage processes.
* A confident and competent telephone manner with dedication to excellent customer service and a sensitive approach to clients who may be distressed or frustrated.
* Professional and clear verbal and written communication skills.
* Accurate with the ability to demonstrate good attention to detail.
* Able to identify issues which arise and resolve them as quickly as possible.
* The ability to use IT and E-mail systems.
* A positive and proactive attitude.
* Interest in working to team goals as well as on your own initiative.
