About the role: The Leigh Academy has an exciting opportunity for a reliable Saturday Premises Maintenance Operative (Caretaker) to join our team as soon as possible. Our successful candidate will be a committed and self-motivated individual who not only enjoys being part of a team but also enjoys the responsibility that comes with solo-working. The working basis of the role is every Saturday from 8.00am until 6.00pm throughout the full year (9.5 hours per week plus a 30 minutes unpaid lunch break which has to be taken onsite so that the site is not unattended ) - i.e. we open our school for a variety of lettings and events at weekends during the school holidays. This position will assist the broader Site Team with the care of the school premises, a range of general maintenance duties within the buildings and the grounds whilst ensuring the security of school premises. Applicants will need a flexible approach to working hours and duties occasionally.

Applicants need to be trustworthy, reliable, hardworking, physically fit, conscientious and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Ideally you will have good DIY skills, some knowledge of Health & Safety, basic IT skills and an understanding of safeguarding. We offer fantastic training opportunities so can provide support if there are any areas that you may need to be up-skilled or trained.
