Pearson Whiffin Education are recruiting for a Science Technician to start ASAP for a School in the Gravesend area on a short term basis.

The science department of the school is a varied and exciting environment and you will work with strong, committed teachers who are dedicated to ensuring the success of their students. Your role will be lab based, organising and preparing materials for teachers. You will be responsible for all sensitive materials and resources in the science department and you will be asked to take part in demonstrations and experiments with students in class.

The successful candidate will need to have the following skills/experience:

Essential:

* A current DBS, or be able to gain one with ease
* A qualification in Science - ideally degree level or A-Level
* Experience working in a lab environment and ideally with young people
* Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal and IT skills
* The ability to work independently and use your initiative
* The ability to prioritise and organise your own time
* A patient approach with students
* Responsible & conscientious approach to Health & Safety

Desirable:

* Experience of working in a school
* Knowledge of relevant codes of practice
