Project Manager
Salary: £45000 – £60000 DOE
Our client, a busy international well-established logistics organisation are recruiting for a Project Manager. This will involve carrying out new marine piling, refurbishment of existing pontoons and the installation of mechanical and electrical infrastructure both on the landside and on the pontoons.
This position is to start in September 2022 and is anticipated to complete around mid-2024.
Duties of the Post Holder
• To prepare Work Packages (Works Information and Site Information) under the NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) in collaboration with the Contracts & Procurement team for a of range of civil engineering works.
• To act as Project Manager under the NEC3 ECC for a range of work packages for civil engineering works.
• To work with the Principal Designer to ensure that operational constraints and buildability are adequately considered in produced designs.
• To undertake detailed reviews of design documentation produced by the Consultant’s.
• To work with the Port Operations team to produce detailed plans to ensure that construction works are undertaken with minimum disruption to port operations.
• To review the contractor’s health and safety documentation for construction works.
• To direct the site supervisor in overseeing the quality control of the contractor’s work.
Generic Duties
• Any other duties assigned by the manager or supervisor from time to time. Such duties will be reasonable in relation to the job holder’s skills, abilities and status.
• To comply with environmental instructions and to identify potential risks to the environment, or areas where environmental impact can be reduced.
• To comply with all safety instructions and to accept responsibility for your own safety and the safety of others who may be affected by what you do.
• To identify potential risks in the work area, and to report such risks promptly to management.
ESSENTIAL
• A proven track record of project management of civil engineering aspects of multidisciplinary projects in ‘live’ operational environments.
• EC3 ECC – Project Manager role on multidisciplinary projects.
• BSc Civil Engineering (or similar)
• Construction Site Management Qualification (SMSTS, NVQ Construction Site Management or similar).
• A proven track record of civil engineering design and thorough understanding of the design process.
• A proven track record of responsibility from the construction phase of civil engineering projects.
• A thorough understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and management of construction sites.
• A thorough understanding of environmental requirements and considerations on civil engineering projects.
• A thorough understanding of Procurement of both services and construction works and a practical experience of undertaking of the ‘Client’s role’ under such contracts
DESIRABLE
• Experience of working for Client, Designer and Contractor.
• Experience of Port Environment.
• Sound understanding of M&E services
• MSc Civil Engineering (or similar).
• NEC3 Project Managers Certificate.
• Temporary works coordinator.
• Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE) or Incorporate Engineering (IEng) with the ICE
General Skills and Abilities
• Good Communicator.
• Problem Solver / Decision Maker.
• Structured / Methodical approach.
• Work on own initiative.
• Pro-active.
• Good user skills of MS Office software.
• A knowledge of MS Project or similar planning software.
• Good user skills of AutoCAD
