Short Break Support Workers - Waking Night and Bank staff
Salary Band C: £19104 - £24410 -37 hours per week (pro-rata for part time)
We are Beams is a parent-driven charity working to support disabled children and their families, living in the Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley areas. We provide a range of Family Advice, Information, Support and Short Break Services to our Parent members.
We are currently seeking to recruit Support Workers for our Short Break Service for disabled children and young people. Our clients are aged between 5 -24 with a variety of disabilities including complex needs. You may be required to support days, evenings, weekends, sleeping in, waking night, school holidays and activity days. We enable our young people to develop their self esteem, build on life skills, and work towards independence, access education and to participate in a wide range of activities.

Post 1 – Waking Night Duty 20/30 Hours per week. ( Each night is 10 hours)
Post 2 – Bank work
This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence. You will have the flexibility to accept work that suits your individual circumstances and availability.

Successful applicants should have a proactive and positive work ethic, be a willing Team member and be enthusiastic, positive and flexible. An understanding of disability and a relevant qualification (NVQ Level 3 Working with Children & Young People) would be an advantage.
This post is based at our Resource Centre in Hextable but will require the ability to work in the community. A full clean driving licence is desirable.
Successful applicants will need to have an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
