Trainee Claims Handler

£16,500 to £21,000

Barker Munro Insurance Recruitment are thrilled to be working with one of the most consistently profitable General Insurers in the UK and to be part of their recruitment programme to find enthusiastic personnel to commence employment within their training programme.

On offer is a 2 year training programme to culminating in the candidate becoming a fully qualified and competent claims handler within the insurance industry.

Full training supplied by either the Internal Training Department or on the job training within your team. This role includes full support towards Certificated Insurance Examinations both financially and coaching.

After the initial training period (3 to 6 months) you will be given responsibility for your own case management which will include claims handling for property & liability across varying stakeholders including solicitors, brokers, policyholders & loss adjusters.

Role Requirements:

Ensure all claims are fully investigated
Act as a key contact for policyholders
Communication by phone and in writing
Identify opportunities to make recoveries
Maintain accurate estimates
Settle claims within appropriate timescales
Team player

Candidate requirements:

Minimum of 5 GCSE's which must include Maths & English
Experience in a customer focused environment of any kind – waiter, receptionist, office, banking, retail, etc
Computer skills

Package:

Excellent starting salary with an increase every 4 months during the training period of 2 years
Monday to Friday – no weekends
9am to 5pm
Pay reviews every April (after training period)
Pension contribution from employer at 5%
Bonus of up to 8% of basic salary
Overtime at 150% of basic salary rate
Season ticket loan
