We are looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our finance team, who act as a shared service to the variety of companies that recognise the Fresh Produce Centre as their home.

As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you’ll be responsible for the completion of payments and the handling of expenses by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices.

You’ll be accountable for setting up new suppliers on our system ready for payments to be allocated to their accounts. Once the purchase invoice is received, you’ll process this, matching it to the goods receipt note, before apportioning the cost appropriately.

It’ll be within your remit to reconcile supplier statements, identifying any that have not yet been paid and requesting copies where necessary.
When employee expense claims have been submitted, it’ll be your role to ensure that they are accurate and in accordance with the company’s published expense policy. You’ll also ensure that VAT is reclaimed where appropriate and will be responsible for the maintenance of the system’s master data.

It’ll also be your responsibility to ensure that internal costing updates happen regularly and that you respond to any supplier or internal queries, helping to resolve them in an efficient and timely manner.

Our perfect Purchase Ledger Clerk would be:

• AAT qualified, or currently studying for AAT (desirable)
• Familiar with working in a financial accounting environment
• Proficient in the use of MS Packages (Excel, Word)
• Familiar with using SAP (desirable)
• Highly organised, with the ability to work under pressure without compromising attention to detail
• An excellent communicator with the ability to build rapport with external suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Flexible, innovative and easily adaptable to change
