Workshop Engineer


PURPOSE OF POSITION

To be responsible for in-house technical repairs and support for customers on all diagnostic instrumentation.


KEY RESPONSIBLTIES

To be responsible for in-house technical repairs on all instrumentation and support for customers on all diagnostic instrumentation. This will also involve instrumentation preparation and verification of all the companies’ instrument portfolio.

To provide technical assistance to customers, sales team, and other technical service employees as required.

Maintain up to date technical library, including service manuals, operator manuals and technical bulletins.


OPERATIONAL DUTIES

• Maintain and repair all company instrumentation returned for workshop repair whilst ensuring that all repairs are completed to the manufacturer’s guidelines.

• The diagnosis and repair of Analogue/Digital electronic assemblies down to component level, with the ability to understand complicated circuit diagrams. You will be experienced in using a wide range of test equipment, including Oscilloscopes, DVM, Logic Analysers and Power Supplies.

• Instrumentation preparation and verification of all the companies’ instrument portfolio.

• Ensure all records relating to workshop repairs i.e. workshop repair forms, spares requisition / return forms are completed accordingly and as defined within the company ISO procedures.

• You should be computer literate and have experience with Microsoft products, in particular - Access, Excel, and Word.

• To assist in service inventory stock checks within the workshop.

• Assist with instrument installations if required by use of company vehicle.

• To provide technical assistance to the Sales Team, Customers and other technical service employees as and when required.

• To maintain daily communication with the Workshop Manager and other departments to ensure efficient work practice for all activities.

• Ensure all company property is kept and maintained in good working order, including workshop tools.

• Submit a detailed record of expenses incurred to the company as required.

• Attend exhibitions and meetings representing the company if required.

• Any other reasonable duties required by the Workshop Manager and Technical Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

• You should have or currently be working towards your BTEC diploma or ONC / HNC in Electronic / Electrical Engineering and have excellent communication skills.



Working hours Monday to Friday 9am – 5.30pm.
