Position: Head of Finance (interim)
Location: Sevenoaks, Kent
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Role: Interim
Start: Immediate
Duration: 2 Months (minimum)
Our client is an Independent School catering for a diverse range of needs for boys and girls age 11-19.
Due to this being a school you will need a valid DBS check and due to the location, this role would better suit somebody who drives.
They are looking to appoint an Interim Head of Finance for at least two months, they could be a possible extension to this.
Key Tasks
To lead and manage the Finance Department including finance and payroll
To ensure the regular and effective management, forecasting and reporting of the School finances to the Trustees, Principal, and Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
To work with the Principal and SLT on annual business planning
As a member of the SLT, to take an active role in corporate leadership.
lead responsibility for operational compliance to charity and company law, attending Trustee board meetings as required
To be a Director and Company Secretary of their wholly owned subsidiary.
Managerial
To ensure the recruitment and effective performance management of Finance Department staff, including monthly supervision, coaching, appraisal, training and development
To work within the School`s operational framework of delegated authorities, financial management and decision making
To liaise with SLT with regards the tender, procurement and management of contractors, consultants or advisors required and ensure they deliver timely, high quality and cost-effective work
To review regularly ongoing contracts to ensure the School receives cost effective and high-quality services
The School has a no smoking policy - the school is a smoke free zone.
