Development Officer

Location: Horizon House, Maidstone

Salary: £29,240 - £32,498 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time 36.25 hours per week

Our target is to deliver 2,000 new homes each year as the country's third largest developing housing association. To achieve these goals, we are expanding our team and looking for a motivated, passionate and dedicated development professional to join us on our journey.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Development Officer to join our fast paced and driven Land and New Business team in the South. We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual who has excellent communication and organisational skills to establish a pipeline of suitable development opportunities that fit the group's development strategy. To support this you will ensure effective relationships are built and maintained with key external partners including Developers, Contractors, Land Agents, Local Authorities, and Homes England.

Some of the key duties include:

• Work with Interim Head of Development to identify and deliver circa 800 strategy.

• Prepare financial appraisals, risk assessments, and reports for project approval.

• Ensure projects are effectively managed in line with funding requirements and internal procedures

• Lead on ensuring grant claims are accurately made to Homes England and The Greater London Authority, in line with forecast and compliance requirements


To be a strong applicant, we are looking for you to possess excellent communication skills and the relationship management skills necessary to develop and maintain effective partnerships, both with internal and external stakeholders. Proven experience in new business project management is desirable however not essential as training will be given.

You will be degree qualified in a relevant discipline or equivalent by experience.
