South East Water are looking for an individual to join the Water Quality Team, who has strong customer service skills, good time management, prioritisation skills and enjoys driving around the Kent and Sussex countryside. Experience in water quality sampling, as well as knowledge of drinking water supply, storage and treatment would be preferred for this role however extensive training will be provided.


The post holder, as part of the Water Quality Team, will undertake sampling rounds mainly in the Kent and Sussex area, although sampling anywhere in the South East Water area may be required. Ideally the successful candidate will be based in Tunbridge Wells or Snodland area.

The role:
The key purpose of the role is to take water samples in accordance with procedures, ensuring compliance with the Water Quality Regulations and internal sampling programme. This programme helps to inform decisions to optimise Drinking Water Quality and protect public health.
Key tasks include the collection and deliver of samples from production and distribution locations, customer properties, and undertake water quality investigations. To perform on site tests and associated quality control checks in accordance with Company's Sampling Manual, UKAS Accreditation and the Water Quality Regulations. To ensure all paperwork and electronic records are maintained to the required UKAS standard. To organise sampling events in conjunction with Production staff to ensure plant is running at time of sampling.
Good written and verbal communication skills are required to be successful within this position. Sampling at weekends in accordance with the local team agreement and in emergency as requested by the Company may be required.

Key requirements:
* Experience of Water Quality Sampling, Customer Service, with a focus on both internal and external customers.
* A methodical and conscientious approach, effective planner, able to respond to change, good communication and flexible approach to workload.
* An understanding of water regulations and water hygiene.
* Knowledge of water supply, storage and treatment.
* Strong IT skills as well as good communication skills.
* Clean driving license, a company van will be provided.
