A Trainee Estimator/Office Junior is required for a Mechanical services contractor based in Marden, Kent.

The company works in the commercial sector undertaking works in a range of buildings such as schools, offices, churches and sports pavilions up to the value of £1million (mechanical value). The role will mainly be office based but will also require visiting sites and attending meetings once the necessary experience has been obtained.

We see this as a varied role, that will include various other duties other than estimating within the office environment, from marketing activities to placing orders. This is a good opportunity for someone to develop a wide range of skills and become a significant individual within the company.

Skills/Experience/Qualifications

Essential:

• Punctual, organised and Hard working
• Competent using Microsoft and office programmes
• Good communication skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Excellent time management skills

Beneficial:

The responsibilities are as follows:

• Attending pre order meetings with clients
• Liaising with suppliers, clients and sub-contractors
• Measuring and take offs for materials and labour
• Producing costing spreadsheets on Microsoft excel
• Completing tenders within short timescales
• Producing correspondence letters inclusive of tender qualifications
• Providing value engineering proposals
• Carry out site visits and surveys
• Understand and analyse Sub-Contractor quotations
• Working closely with the Operations Direct to assist with procurement activities

Working hours: Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm
Contract: Full time
Salary: £20k-25k (Salary will reflect experience)
