Our rapidly expanding client seeks a personable, eager and enthusiastic Junior / Trainee IT Assistant to join their team to support their growth. This is an exciting time to join as you will become the third member of the IT team, so will have the opportunity to get involved in a broad range of projects.
The company has grown to almost 60 employees in just 4 years, but still embraces a friendly, family feel. As Junior / Trainee IT Assistant you will provide support to in-house and remote employees. You will be expected to complete basic IT maintenance and support tasks, as well as assisting the IT Manager with bespoke projects.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Junior / Trainee IT Assistant
The role involves working closely with and reporting to the IT Manager to ensure all the activities of the organisation are compliant with the relevant legal and regulatory frameworks. This includes, but is not limited to:
· Assisting with Configuration and deployment of Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Server, Microsoft Azure and other infrastructure solutions
· Working in unison with in-house Communications Team on projects where required
· Documentation of Project works, with technical handover for on-going support and management
· Receiving and owning 1st Line issues where required
· Performing troubleshooting and diagnosis for all issues using the technical resources and management and monitoring tools available
· Ensuring that all processes are followed; and all issues are owned through to resolution
· Suggesting and working to introduce continual improvement of services delivered by Services team
Technical Skills of the Junior / Trainee IT Assistant
Essential
· A technical knowledge of Microsoft Office including troubleshooting
· A technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 including troubleshooting
· General troubleshooting experience (Printers, WiFi, Projectors)
Desirable
· Familiarity with basic networking protocols - TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN, WAN
· A basic knowledge of the following Languages: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL
· Experience of an Azure Active Directory
· Knowledge of remote desktop support software
· Experience using VPN systems
Salary range - £16 to £18K subject to school/college qualifications/work experience
Hours: 37.5 hours per week 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch break

After 2 years of service - 1 additional day holiday up to maximum of 5 days on the above 20 days statutory entitlement
