Are you ready to help people do something amazing?

Are you organised, outgoing, and have a ‘can do’ attitude?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Social Prescribing team working with older people and adults with complex needs. The service offers short-term intensive support with the aim of reducing hospital readmissions and improving health and wellbeing. As a Coordinator, you will recruit, train and manage local volunteers to work directly with clients in their homes or the community.

You will work alongside Social Prescribing colleagues to co-produce support plans, identify the role of the volunteer and match individual volunteers with appropriate attributes. Volunteers will support clients to retain their independence, re-engage in social activities, meet new friends or perhaps try something new.

You will have opportunities to plan, organise and deliver volunteer recruitment campaigns, attending events and using social and other media platforms to develop wider networks. You will ensure volunteers receive appropriate training and supervision, and stay in regular communication to make sure they feel supported and fulfilled in their role.

In this role, you will ensure that volunteers understand how to respond to challenging and complex situations with a sensitive and measured response, ensuring that safeguarding and lone working measures are followed. You will maintain up-to-date records using our bespoke database.

The service is currently delivered across Kent and Medway. The post holder will be based in North Kent and must be able to travel to other areas, so a car driver is essential.

Help people reach their full potential.
