CAF are seeking an IT project manager with a can do attitude and experience delivering a range of IT infrastructure projects to join the busy IT department on a permanent basis.

To work in close partnership with business colleagues to manage projects using the structured project methodology. The role is required to deliver projects that require a high level of attention to detail. You will be responsible for the complete project lifecycle: from producing a Project Initiation Document to transition documentation in order to hand over projects to support teams and the business.

We are looking for someone who possesses a combination of the right skills, aptitude and knowledge to fulfil the role. You will demonstrate aptitude during the interview process with openness, good communication and a can-do attitude. You need to be a self starter able to work with minimal supervision. You should be articulate and able to discuss project plans, risks or scenarios openly and professionally with colleagues. You should be able to relate your knowledge of managing previous IT projects in a structured environment to this role.

Job Responsibilities

The Project Manager is required to deliver projects that are signed off at the business case review board. Structured projects are delivered to a gateway process that is aligned to a waterfall methodology for project delivery.
The Project Manager is responsible for:
• Producing a Project Initiation Document (PID) to confirm project scope
• Producing and maintaining a project plan
• Facilitating risk workshops and managing risk through the project lifecycle
• Managing project financial tracking and purchasing
• Managing changes in project scope, producing documented change control impact assessments
• Reporting project status to the steering group
• Arranging and facilitating steering group meetings, chaired by the project sponsor
• Planning, organising and managing technical change implementations
• Producing transition documentation to hand over projects to the IT service team (BAU)
• Request and organise project resources and team members to deliver project tasks and activities
