Trainee Customs Clearance Clerk
Are you a strong administrator with excellent customer service skills and a head of numbers?
If yes, then we have some fantastic opportunities to join a new and growing team as a Trainee Customs Clearance Clerk to start your successful career within the shipping and logistics industry.
Whether you are just starting out in your first job or have a few years' experience within an office environment and looking for a new challenge, then this would be an ideal opportunity for you.
Please note that the start date for these roles will be October 2020 with the interview process starting at the end of August 2020.
Location - Dover & Folkestone (Training will be carried out at Dover site)
Salary - £19,000 (Incremental salary increases during training)
Shifts: Working 8am - 8pm and 8pm - 8am (1 hr lunch)
You will work 60 hrs in Weeks 1/3 and 24 hrs in Weeks 2/4.
With excellent training on offer you will learn to determining the levels of duties and taxes to be paid including the process of payments on behalf of the client within the shipping industry. This is a very rewarding role and the client also offers a development programme so that you can progress with your logistics career.
Our client provides an extensive range of services to commercial vehicle operators throughout Europe. These include roll-on and roll-off ferry freight bookings, customs clearance, European motorway and tunnel toll tickets and electronic tags as well Bureau de Change.
You will need to be
* Computer literate in Windows
* Have strong communication skills
* Excellent customer service skills
* Engaging, enthusiastic, self-motivated, confident, self-assured and a team player
* For the Folkestone location you will need to be able to drive to get to site.
