Leigh Academies Trust has a fantastic opportunity to appoint an Accounts/Finance Assistant (Apprenticeship) who will join our highly efficient Finance Department based in Strood, Kent. The purpose of this role is to undertake all generalist accounts and finance activities associated with the fully-centralised service that is offered to all LAT academies.

The position is ideal for someone at the start of their career, who is passionate about working within the department and the value that it adds to an organisation. You'll be joining a well established team who will support you to thrive in this role and you will receive fantastic professional development opportunities, working towards gaining a nationally-recognised Level 2-3 qualification.

Please note: This is a fixed term position for 12-18 months to reflect the apprenticeship duration, however, every effort will be made to extend / make permanent thereafter. Applicants who have already obtained a Level 2-3 qualification will not be eligible for this position.



Apprenticeship Summary:

Annual wage: £10,000 per annum
Working weeks: Monday - Friday throughout the full year
Total hours per week : 37 hours per week (including the 20% training element of the Apprenticeship Programme)
Holiday Allowance: 25 days per annum plus bank holidays
Apprenticeship duration: 12-18 months
Programme delivery type: All modules are delivered as online learning which can be completed at your place of work
Start date: September 2020
Apprenticeship level: Advanced Level Apprenticeship (Level 2-3)
Essential entry qualifications: GCSEs A*-C, Maths and English


Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st September 2020, our Trust will comprise 28 geographically organised academies (11 secondaries, 15 primaries and 2 special) educating over 16,000 students, and employing over 2,500 talented staff. We also have one further secondary academy in the development phase, due to open in September 2021. The Trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North West Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway. In addition, the Trust is responsible for one of the region’s biggest initial teaching training providers and a large teaching school.
