Oaks Primary Academy has an exciting opportunity to appoint a Receptionist/Administrator (Apprenticeship) to join and enhance the work of the administration team at our school. This is an exciting and rare chance to join a school and play a pivotal role in its success and development, laying the path for future years. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a busy reception area, and be confident in providing a professional, welcoming, efficient service. The candidate will be able to work flexibly under pressure, use their initiative and prioritise their workload. You will also undertake a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship delivered by LAT Apprenticeships.


The ideal candidate would need to have the following:

Good general standard of education

Good standard of literacy and numeracy

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Good IT skills



Apprenticeship Summary
Working weeks: Monday - Friday during school term time
Total hours per week (on average): 37 hours per week (including the 20% training element of the Apprenticeship Programme) + holiday allowance
Apprenticeship duration: 18 months
Programme delivery type: All modules are delivered as online learning which can be completed at your place of work
Start date: November 2020
Apprenticeship level: Advanced Level Apprenticeship (Level 3)
Apprenticeship standard: Business & Administration
Positions available: 1
Essential entry qualifications: GCSEs A* - C, Maths and English


This position offers an actual salary of £8,439 per annum. The basis is 37 hours per week, Term time + 1 week of inset (8.30am - 4.30pm with 30 minutes for lunch, finishing at 4.00pm Friday). The role is initially offered on an 18 month contract, with every intention to make permanent thereafter based on successful completion of the apprenticeship programme.



Working for Oaks Primary Academy: Oaks Primary Academy is a small academy with approximately 160 pupils on roll and an additional 21 pupils in our Nursery. We are very proud of our school and the hard work and positive attitude of all our pupils and staff. Teaching areas are both safe and well maintained, providing a stimulating working environment for pupils. We are continually striving to improve our facilities in order to enrich the experiences of our pupils.

The teachers and support staff form a very strong team and work closely with the Governing Body and Leigh Academies Trust to promote high standards throughout Oaks Primary Academy.

The academy teaches a broad and balanced curriculum which is enriched by a wide range of extra-curricular activities. It is our aim to provide a happy, safe, and caring community, where everyone is encouraged and supported to achieve their goals.


Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st September 2020, our Trust will comprise 28 geographically organised academies (11 secondaries, 15 primaries and 2 special) educating over 16,000 students, and employing over 2,500 talented staff. We also have one further secondary academy in the development phase, due to open in September 2021. The Trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North West Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway. In addition, the Trust is responsible for one of the region’s biggest initial teaching training providers and a large teaching school.
