TEACHER

Salary DOE + SEN allowance

Permanent position

32.5 hours per week (full-time)

Bradstow is a creative and unique residential school for children between the ages of 5 & 19. It is situated in 13 acres of parkland in Broadstairs. We seek to meet the needs of children and young people with autism and severe learning difficulties with associated behaviours that may be challenging. We have achieved national recognition for our developments in Communication and Behaviour Management, and in our most recent OFSTED inspections we have achieved a rating of Outstanding for our school and Good for our residential homes.

Experience is with SEN is not essential. You will be provided with an extended and ongoing package of induction and professional development. We believe that personal and professional development are essential in our specialised field and are at the core of the success of the school.

All teachers are fully trained and supported in Gentle Teaching, TEACCH, Positive Behaviour Support, PECS and other augmentative communication systems, as well as being provided with a wide range of other specialist skills. You will also be encouraged and supported to extend your skills and knowledge by undertaking further Degree and Diploma studies.

For all posts we look for candidates who are mature, warm, creative and open to learning with a patient and caring attitude to deal sensitively with vulnerable children.
