Are you a Finance Leader with solid financial and accountancy experience and the vision to develop an organisation's financial processes and systems?

Our current Finance Lead is retiring and so this leads us to recruit for their successor. You will take over a solid, existing financial function and bring vision and energy to strategise and develop the organisation's financial systems and processes and build a finance team as the company grows.

The post would suit a finance leader seeking a move from the private sector into a values-driven non-profit with a focus on changing lives for the better, or a leader from the non-profit/charity sector seeking an ambitious move to the next level. Experience of finance in the education system is especially desirable.

This rewarding role would fulfill someone who instinctively works in a detail oriented way, with a high level of accuracy and who is at ease when working on multiple projects and tasks.

Main aim: Strategic leadership and management of the whole company’s finances. Enabling great outcomes for people with learning difficulties and/or autism through strategic planning and maintaining strong, efficient financial controls. Building a finance team as the company grows.

Full-time, 37 hours per week Monday to Friday.

Location: Working in Canterbury with flexibility to work some hours from home. One day per fortnight working with the Chief Executive in Maidstone.

Salary and benefits: In the range of £40,000-£45,000 per annum, with an offer based on skill and experience. Generous 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, plus 5% of salary as employer pension contribution (salary sacrifice scheme also available), free car parking at Canterbury site.


If you have...

- A strong, proven track record as a strategic financial leader and management accountant in a private or third sector SME.
- Excellent budgeting and cash flow forecasting skills.
- Strong experience of bookkeeping and managing core company accounting functions, including the preparation of statutory accounts.
- Eagerness to mentor colleagues and ability to motivate and lead others' work.
- The ability to work flexibly and respond positively to tight deadlines.
- A shared value and belief in achieving equality for people with learning difficulties and/or autism.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- An eye for spotting what needs to be done, with the vigour to do what it takes to keep the central bemix financial function resilient and operational.
