The Department of Religious Studies is seeking to appoint a Sociologist of Religion to teach a range of modules on its BA programme(s).
Associate Lecturers are employed to develop and deliver their own teaching materials for use in a variety of settings (from small tutorial groups to large lectures) and set and mark assessments. They are also expected to actively input on course development and curriculum changes.

As an Associate Lecturer you will:
• Ensure that the content, methods of delivery and learning material will meet the defined learning objectives
• Design teaching material and deliver either across a range of modules or within a subject area
• Act as a mentor for students in the capacity of personal tutor

To be successful in this role you will have/be:
• A PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area
• PGCHE or similar teaching qualification or the willingness to study
• An advanced knowledge of the relevant subject area
• Ability to tutor students effectively pastorally and academically

The Department of Religious Studies at the University of Kent is based within the Division of Arts and Humanities. Staff are internationally-recognised experts in their fields and committed teachers with interests in areas including religion and film, death and the afterlife, East Asian medicines, blasphemy, unbelief, sociology of religion, atheism, non-religion, and the secularisation of religion.
