Time to try something new?

We are looking for maternity cover for a role working with Young Carers aged 5-18 years, who have caring responsibilities for someone in their family due to disability, long-term illness, mental health, or drug or alcohol misuse.

The role is largely community based, with some office-based or home working. It’s a varied role with a mix of home or school visits and assessments, communicating with young people and families virtually or by phone, liaising with other professionals and services, and delivering workshops and activities.

Applicants must be able to establish relationships quickly, communicate effectively and build trust. You should be proactive, motivated and able to work well as part of a team and on your own.

You will need to demonstrate a good understanding of confidentiality, data protection, safeguarding and boundaries in all aspects of your work.

This is a fixed term contract available for 6 months, with a potential 3 month extension. Salary is pro rata for the period. Ideally, we are looking for full time hours, but part time hours would be considered for the right candidate. The role may include some evening and weekend hours.

The role is based in Canterbury and covers the whole district, so a driver with access to their own car is essential.

Be part of something amazing.
