Are you a proactive and efficient individual? Can you support a growing range of activities in business startup and entrepreneurship? Kent Business School are offering an exciting opportunity to join their team on a full time basis for a 2 year period to work on a new initiative Accelerator Space for Innovation and Responsible Enterprise (ASPIRE).

The ASPIRE is the home of entrepreneurship and business start-up support for the Kent Business School (KBS) and wider University through programmes including the Business Start-Up Journey (BSUJ), Self-Employed Year in Industry (Selfies) and Start-Up Visa endorsement. The ASPIRE provides the physical space for entrepreneurs to share and test ideas, inspiring students to start a business, generate ideas, provide impactful training, mentorship and seek investment to start a business.

You will provide operational support and coordination of the ASPIRE’s programmes and activity supporting student and graduate start-ups, the development of entrepreneurial skills and socially responsible entrepreneurs. The ASPIRE’s work is central to KBS mission as a School of sustainable innovation and has the Sustainable Development Goals at the heart of all its activity.

As ASPIRE Project Officer you will need to:
• work with academic and professional service members of the School to deliver an excellent student experience in relation to ASPIRE activities
• be responsible for the operational delivery marketing, promotion and recruitment of the BSUJ and related ASPIRE events
• be responsible, with support, for developing and maintaining an interactive portal as a onestop shop for the BSUJ
• help commercialise the research outputs of the ASPIRE and Business School

To be successful in this role you will have:
• A minimum of a first degree in a relevant discipline or relevant professional experience
• Experience of working in a Business Development /External Services environment
• Experience of gathering intelligence to develop services and products to meet client needs
• A good understanding of the needs, drivers and support required to start a business
