We are currently recruiting for a Temp QC Technician. The position of the QC Technician is a critical position within the business to ensure we maintain the appropriate standards of the products we manufacture.
The QC Technician is responsible for testing and release of raw materials, in-process intermediates, controls, and finished products to strict timescales in order to support the business requirements.
Responsibilities of the QC Technician:
Testing of raw materials, in-process intermediates, controls, and finished products.
Stability testing of products, as appropriate.
Environmental monitoring microbiological testing.
Keeping accurate and detailed records of all laboratory work in accordance with company procedures.
Ensuring that laboratory chemicals and consumables are stocked to prevent testing delays.
Ensuring that equipment within the laboratory is calibrated and kept serviceable.
Observing and complying with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
Observing and complying with company Health and Safety Policies.
Observing and complying with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Minimum requirements / qualifications of the QC Technician:
Preferably educated to degree level in a Biochemistry/Life Science subject or equivalent experience.
Advantageous to have relevant experience of working in a GMP cleanroom environment with a life science or pharmaceutical background
Advantageous to have an understanding of biochemical and general analytical techniques (e.g. Auto-analysers, Karl Fischer, HPLC, UV spectroscopy and fluorometry).
Advantageous to have knowledge of microbial testing and identification techniques
Diligent and with a meticulous approach to all tasks, with a keen eye for detail
Relevant skills/experience gained within a similar position(s), at a similar level.
Good IT skills e.g. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
Ability to work accurately in a busy and demanding environment, adhering to strict deadlines/timescales.
Strong analytical and problem solving ability.
Good team player with a flexible approach.
Good planning, organizational, and time management skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work proactively using own initiative.
Hands on approach with a ‘can do’ attitude.
