An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Central Services team in our Canterbury office for a Mail Operative & Receptionist working Monday – Friday, 8.30am-5.00pm.
As Mail Operative & Receptionist you will support the Firm by regularly delivering legal documents in a timely manner to ensure optimal efficiency. You will also provide a high standard of customer service in supporting our front of house, answering and directing calls to the appropriate people.

This a varied, interesting role and therefore no two days tend to be the same, so you will need to adopt a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business.

Key duties and responsibilities:
• Managing incoming switchboard calls;
• Meeting and greeting visitors to the office;
• Provide a courier service between Direction Law offices to deliver post, files, stationery and general items;
• Assist with incoming and outgoing post;
• Participate in all training programmes initiated by the Line Managers;
• Report all issues of concern to the Head of Department or as they may direct;
• To adhere to policies and procedures of the Firm;
• To administer daily work within the restrictions of GDPR, Law Society; Conveyancing Quality Scheme and Solicitors Regulation Authority;
• To undertake additional tasks as deemed reasonable to meet the needs of the team in the delivery of excellent client service.

You will be able to confidently demonstrate your ability to:
• Consistently deliver excellent client care;
• Prioritise your workload and stay calm under pressure;
• Communicate effectively with all levels of people either face to face, by telephone and via email;
• Use IT systems efficiently;
• Produce accurate work and have a keen eye for detail;
• Take initiative in relation to problem solving.

Requirements:
• Minimum 4 years clean full driving licence in order to drive company vehicle (essential);
• Minimum of 5 GCSEs A – C or equivalent (essential);
• Manual handling experience or relevant equivalent qualification (desirable);
• Experience of working as a receptionist within a professional services environment (desirable).
