Health & Social Care Trainer – Full-time (37 hours per week) - Faversham



Avante Care & Support is a Registered Charity supporting over 1,000 older people through our registered nursing and dementia care homes and home care services. We are currently seeking a full-time Health & Social Care Trainer to join our busy Training Team.

The Job Role

The role will involve working with staff and managers to create, deliver and monitor training programmes to all sections of our workforce including residential care, home care and agency bank staff. A flexible approach to work is essential, with some weekend and evening work (with time off in lieu) required.

The Person

Ideally the right candidate will be qualified/competent to deliver a range of courses including:

· Moving and Handling

· SOVA

· Equality and Diversity

· MCA/DOLs

· H&S, COSHH, Infection Control, Fire Safety, Food Hygiene

· Dementia

· First Aid at Work and basic First Aid

· Induction training (Care Certificate standards )

· Nutrition & Hydration

The candidate will have extensive experience and demonstrable skills in training within the Health & Social Care sector. You will be self-motivated, have good time management skills as well as be able to use initiative within the scope of the job role. It would be desirable that your experience includes supervisory/management skills in Health & Social Care.

The successful candidate must hold a relevant training qualification, a Health & Social Care qualification at level 3 or above and be a competent user of IT including Microsoft Office applications. It would be desirable to hold a level 3 Assessor Certificate or equivalent or be willing to train for the same. Whilst based in Faversham, travel to various locations in Kent and South London would be required and applicants must hold a full clean driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.

As part of the selection process, candidates will be required to deliver a ‘micro teach’ session of 10 minutes training to the panel on a skill/subject of your choosing. It is likely that the interview and ‘micro teach’ will be via zoom.
