Our Senior Healthcare Assistant is responsible for the smooth running of the care environment on a day-to-day basis. You will take charge of the shift and ensure that carers understand their duties and are capable of carrying out the tasks as directed. You will be responsible for the monitoring of all staff and offer training within the remit of your role, and in line with company policies. The aims and objectives of the home should be met and the philosophy of care should be sustained.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
To ensure that the home is kept adequately staffed at all times and provide cover when no other can be obtained.
To liaise with relatives and visitors as appropriate and necessary within the confines of company policy on confidentiality.
To deal with professional bodies appropriately and courteously.
Be aware of, and enforce, all procedures.
To report to the manager any relevant matters.
Ensure feedback from all quarters is passed directly to the manager within the confines of policy on confidentiality.
Administer medication in line with company policy.
Ensure that adequate stocks are maintained and dealt with appropriately within the remit of their role.
Ensure correct storage of all medication in line with company policy.
To Assess staff capabilities, monitor and train where required
Allocate carers duties for each shift within the assessed ability of each carer and to meet care needs as per care plans.
Monitor staff performance and compliance with General Social Care Council’s guidelines.
Ensure the Standards are complied with, within the remit of her role.
To monitor client well being and report any concerns.
Maintain all records as required.
Follow the company policies in the event of an emergency in a calm and professional manner.
Assisting residents with any personal care as required and assist in the development of activities of wellbeing and social interactions.
Maintaining relevant documentation and referrals to health professionals.
To complete documentation and observations in relation to accidents and incidents.
