Commercial Underwriter, Kent

Barker Munro is offering you the opportunity to work for a growing insurance group based in North Kent who is currently looking to for an additional Commercial Underwriter to join the team.

As a Commercial Underwriter, you will be responsible for providing MTA’s and renewals as well as new business assistance to a panel of brokers whilst also identifying growth opportunities. The team is a very busy trading team where client retention, broker service and relationship management are key and the ability to trade on the phone with brokers is essential.

To be considered for the opportunity of Commercial Underwriter you will have a demonstrable background in commercial insurance and be a well versed underwriter knowing the broker market well. You will be motivated, driven and be able to adapt and embrace change. You will be comfortable trading with brokers over the phone and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the commercial product market, brokers and competitors. Having the knowledge of the Property & Casualty SME insurance markets is essential to you being successful as the commercial underwriter and a proven track record in this market is key.

A background in Underwriting from an insurer, MGA or working under Delegated Authority would be the preference.
