Due to our growth we are looking for a passionate Arabic Translations Assistant to join our team based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. You will have perfect grammar and spelling in both English and Arabic, with high attention to detail. You will be able to use your own initiative and be confident in the understanding of the many different Arabic cultures within the Middle East region.

Responsibilities:

- Translate, proofread and edit all product related content for relevant blocks of the website in clear and concise Arabic, whilst preserving the
Childrensalon tone of voice, in alignment with the translations strategy and wider business objectives as communicated by the supervisor.
- Conduct daily checks on the automated Arabic translations of the product titles appearing on Childrensalon’s systems, checking accuracy of -
copy against images as well as grammar and spelling. Ensuring all copy is clear and concise and localised where relevant.
- Research and translate all product types, categories, attributes and filters and always keep up to date with the relevant category changes in
the source English language.
- Support ad hoc research and presentation projects on a variety of subjects such as deliveries/returns, competition monitoring, payment
systems, and any other areas as instructed by your supervisor.
- Support the supervisor with ad hoc day to day management of tasks related to the wider translations and localisation department ( ie
administrative, liaising with our external translations partnering agency).
- Maintain and update the newly created master Arabic childrenswear glossary ensuring all the words included are Google optimised and the
language used is always in alignment with the Arabic childrenswear industry standards.
- Stay up to date with the latest childrenswear industry news, content marketing ,fashion trends in the wider Middle Eastern region.
- Read Arabic press, childrenswear magazines and blogs and keep records.
- Participate in interlinguistic comparative group projects with colleagues in charge of different languages, as per supervisor instructions.
- Attend ad hoc internal training programs within Childrensalon’s key departments (Copy, Editorial, Marketing) to gain a better understanding
of localisation requirements, business needs and practices followed for the English language.
- Attend ad hoc external training programs to develop skills and deepen knowledge on digital translations and creative transcreation.

Key skills:

- Excellent command of Arabic language, written and verbal.
- Very good command of English language, written and verbal.
- Extensive cultural knowledge of both geographical regions.
- Very good knowledge of childrenswear fashion and the retail industry.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong collaborative and team spirit.
- Commercial acumen.
- Critical thinking.
- Excellent Excel and Powerpoint skills.
- Prior linguistic studies or relevant translations work will be considered an asset.
