Be part of something amazing!

We have worked with Young Carers for a long time and know that young people who grow up with a brother of sister with a lifelong disability or serious medical conditions face specific challenges. They are often socially isolated and experience low self-esteem and confidence. But you can make a difference.

We have developed a dedicated role to support these siblings and provide the right support at the right time to them and their family. This might mean providing information, guidance, support and advocacy… or sourcing funding to arrange fun respite activities... or developing family forums so that people can share their experiences and support each other.

It’s vital that schools, professionals and communities understand how they can support these Young Carer siblings, so you will raise awareness by delivering presentations and attending professional meetings.

The position will cover Maidstone & Swale, and you will join an experienced Children and Young People team. Applicants should be organised, proactive and confident, with experience of working with young people and families in social care, health, education or the voluntary and community sector. Car driver essential.

This role requires you to work both independently and as part of a wider team to achieve targets and outcomes. You will need to demonstrate a robust knowledge of confidentiality, data protection, safeguarding and boundaries in all aspects of your work.

Start making an impact. It’s life changing.
