Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

The Role:
Assist with all necessary maintenance in a high speed steel reinforcing mesh factory
Rapid response to machine breakdown
Minimise delays in the manufacturing process and machine standing time
Responsible for the analysis and repair of machinery
Mechanical & electrical maintenance
Basic Hydraulic, Pneumatic and PLC Knowledge is an advantage.
On-the-job training given
Working environment: moving machinery with a constant level of machine noise
Protective equipment supplied

Must-Haves:
Right first-time & “can-do” attitude
All appropriate repairs completed satisfactorily when scheduled.
Great communication skills at all levels
Self-reliant, able to take decisions quickly, work on own initiative.
Identify and refer necessary issues to departmental / senior management
Previous ME experience desirable

Content of the position:
Recording of all enforced temporary repairs
Ensure H&S, hygiene and quality control procedure compliance
All breakdowns of factory equipment repaired efficiently
Equipment maintained in accordance with agreed schedules
Service and work areas to be kept clean and tidy
100% compliance with company procedure

Initial start via agency for a 12-week probation.
Successful completion of agency probation will lead to a permanent contract at £15.00p.h.based on a standard 40 hours p.w., (0600hrs to 1600hrs Monday to Thursday), for a company probation period of 3 months; then rising to £15.91p.h. on a 40-hour week rotating days and nights on a weekly basis (days 0600hrs to 1600hrs / nights 2000hrs to 0600hrs) Monday to Thursday, with an additional annual attendance bonus of £600.
Annual leave 5.6 weeks p.a. inc. public holidays. AL can be taken at any time except for the three maintenance shutdown periods: Easter, first two weeks of August, Christmas.
