Financial Controller Job - Aylesford - Qualified Accountant - Real Estate & Investments - £70,000 - £80,000

Hays is delighted to be working exclusively with TBH Group based in Aylesford in sourcing an experienced and qualified Financial Controller to join this privately owned real estate investment business operating out of circa 20+ sites mainly across the South East of England with asset values of more than £90m.

Your new role...
Will provide specialist financial management as a member of the senior leadership team of the TBH group and support the delivery of its ambition to grow its real estate portfolio, expand its construction activities and maximising shareholder value across our various investment activities. This role will report directly into the CEO and will be responsible for:

* Management and production of monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts including audited accounts for parts of the group requiring an audit
* Preparing annual budgets for the group and monitor against budgets
* Manage the production of rolling real estate development forecasts of construction projects and report against expected outcomes
* Quarterly reporting to key stakeholders such as senior debt providers and develop and nurture the group's long established lending relationship.
* Assist in the production and maintain a three year rolling business projection for the Group.
* Support the due diligence and integration of acquisition, disposal and funding procurement processes
* Assist in strategy and policy development across all investment activities of the business Support the board's ability to control the treasury function of the group including hedging strategies
* Co-ordinate the group's CT and Capital gains tax planning / strategy and any related tax matter (capital allowances)
* Support the group and its investment financial functions as necessary to manage any change in personal, scale or location and in respect of general risk mitigation

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be an accomplished CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified Accountant who has worked at a leadership level in a busy environment and able to assess and understand a wide range of commercial activities. Exposure to real estate construction and development is desirable but other similar skill sets such as engineering or manufacturing/logistics would have similar characteristics to the business. Experience in accounting software, such as - QuickBooks, Zero and Sage Accounts Production Advanced (or similar packages) would be preferable alongside Advanced Excel skills and being proficient in use of Word. Demonstrated experience in supervising, mentoring and reviewing colleague's work/activities. Someone outcome orientated and professional in attitude and approach, with the confidence to challenge the management of the business and enforce controls as approved by the board. We are keen to see applicants with a desire to progress their career and that have aspirations to move towards a CFO position.
