Working as a Senior Lecturer/Reader and Director of Studies for Higher Degree Apprenticeships (Business & Management) at Kent Business School is to be part of the 1% of global business schools to gain ‘Triple Crown’ accreditation from three top business organisations: European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and The Association of MBAs (AMBA). We also gained the Small Business Charter Award in 2018.

As a dual-intensive Business School, our distinctiveness comes from a forward-thinking approach to business education. We place sustainable innovation at the heart of our educational outlook, underpinned by world-class research. We are interdisciplinary by nature, bringing innovative solutions to real world issues. We are integrated into the local business community as a hub for knowledge creation and exchange. We are proud that our industry collaborations and global partnerships benefit students, businesses and the community. Our commitment to gender equality was recognised by our 2020 Athena SWAN bronze award.

Not only will you be welcomed to align your teaching and scholarly activity to any of the four departments within KBS, where internationally-recognised colleagues pride themselves on teaching excellence, you will be joining a team of world-leading researchers – indeed, the REF2021 has confirmed KBS as a leading research business school, with 80% of our outputs rated as world-leading (4*) or internationally excellent (3*).

We invite applications from dedicated scholars keen to join a dynamic team and make a strong contribution to both research and teaching, as well as our student enterprise and business engagement activities.

You will lead and contribute to the delivery of HDAs within the Division, namely, Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA) and Senior Leader Master's Degree Apprenticeship (SLMDA), undertaking quality assurance work, ensuring that the course complies with relevant apprenticeship standards, undertaking curriculum review and development, and supporting tutors to deliver excellent teaching that aligns with KBS’s strategic goals.

You will have previous experience in delivering technology enabled learning and teaching, as well as evidence of a track record of leadership in education and pedagogy.

We encourage applications from those with significant experience, teaching, or managing the delivery of teaching, on apprenticeship courses. We are especially interested to receive applications from prospective candidates whose pedagogic practice and broader scholarship relates to the School’s mission of sustainable innovation.

Although based at either our Medway or Canterbury campuses, you may be expected to take up teaching and other responsibilities at either, in addition to the University’s other campuses, study centres, and work off campus for the delivery of Degree and Higher Degree Apprenticeships.

Both Canterbury and Medway offer excellent places to live whether urban, rural or coastal living is your preference. There is also access to Outstanding schools in both areas, easy links to central London and Europe via high-speed trains as well as our stunning cultural and historical attractions. Kent also offers much in the way of outdoor life as well as an enviable climate. The School offers a competitive salary, generous support for research/scholarship as well as a collegial and cohesive work environment.
