About:
The company is a Motoring Sport company, and they are offering up to £65,000 for a Senior SQL Database Developer. You will be working in a hybrid model (4 days a week on site). You will also be put on a rota to work race weekends. which you can claim back in a Lou.

Main Purpose of Job:
To analyse, design, develop, support and maintain high quality, reliable database systems.



Main Duties and Responsibilities

* Determine database structural requirements by analysing operations, applications, and programming; reviewing objectives and evaluating current systems.
* Provide detailed and comprehensive design specifications and functional documentation for proposed solutions.
* Design, development and testing of database solutions; defining and specifying the physical structure of the database and corresponding functional capabilities including security, back-up, and recovery.
* Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development.
* Develop and maintain data integration and transformation solution, using Microsoft SQL Integration Services.
* Provide database guidance / SQL reviews and work with front-end software developers, in order to integrate and test modules.

* To complete all mandatory training within specified timelines.
* To operate safely at all times in line with Company health and safety requirements.
* To undertake other duties within your capabilities as your Department Manager or Team Manager may assign to you from time to time.

Qualifications:
1st or 2nd class degree in Computer Science or significant hands-on experience in a relevant IT related discipline.

Necessary Experience:

* 5-7 years working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (Currently 2016)
* Experience of relational database concepts and their implementation under MSSQL
* Experience of Data Warehouse Design and understanding of Dimensional Model (Star Schema)
* Experience of SQL Server Integration Services
* Experience of relational database concepts, SQL and Reporting Tools
* Experience with Event-driven architectures.
* Working experience of C#

Desirable Experience:

* Experience of Microsoft Master Data Services and associated tools
* Experience with NoSQL and other Database technologies such as MongoDB.
* Experience with Cloud based Databases and Data Warehouse services (specifically AWS).
* Experience with message passing frameworks such as ActiveMq / Kafka.
* Experience with Apache ServiceMix.

Skills Required:

* Excellent knowledge and proven experience of designing, developing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Databases.
* Excellent Analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
* Good understanding of XML and XSLT/XPath.

Skills Desired:

* Good understanding of Object Oriented techniques.
* Good understanding of Event driven and Service Oriented Architectures.
* Knowledge of web based technologies including ASP.NET, MVC, WEB API, JQuery, AngularJS
* Very good understanding of using TCP/IP, UDP and other networking technologies.

Personal Qualities:

* Ability to adapt effectively to changing targets and objectives and ensuring tight deadlines are achieved.
* Highly motivated individual, who has a methodical and structured approach to work.
* Ability to communicate clearly and in a professional manner, even when in the most challenging/high pressured environments.
* Confidence to work with minimal of supervision.
* Good planning skills and the ability to effectively multi-task.

* Planning and implementing projects consistent with the aims and objectives of the Electronics Group.
