We are currently recruiting for one of Kent’s largest charities for a Head of HR which is presented on a fixed term maternity contract for 12 months.

The role reports to the HR Director and you will be working within a stable team of 4.
The client is looking for someone to manage and maintain matters for the duration of the contract and can offer attractive hybrid working 40:60

We are searching for an individual with:
A well-developed understanding of HR practices with good working knowledge of employment and case law.
A genuine, interest, desire and commitment to working within the charity sector
Commitment to an open, participative and empowering style of management
Excellent understanding of and commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
Particular experience of handling redundancies would be helpful.
CIPD minimum level 5 or qualified by experience at a suitable level.

Package:
Fixed for 12 months
Monday to Friday only
37.5 hours per week
Salary: £43,075.00 per annum
Match up to 8% pension contribution
25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
Hybrid working 40:60
Canterbury based - FREE PARKING

The overall purpose of the role
Will be to provide and maintain a range of high quality HR services which support the implementation of the charities HR and organisational strategy by delivering a high performance culture at all levels
Research design and review HR policies, procedures and systems
Manage specific projects to ensure that HR services enables the organisation to achieve its strategic aims

Main Duties and Responsibilities will include:
The provision of HR advice and support to managers and staff
Oversee employee relations cases
Under the direction of the HR Director, draft first response in relation to any tribunal claim
Lead change management and TUPE processes
Review exit interviews and leavers taking any required follow up actions

Addition areas of responsibility:
Information & Reporting
Recruitment & Induction
Management responsibility
Performance Attendance Management
Payroll: maintain accurate payroll records add complete monthly payroll report, monitoring any changes (ie. new starters, leavers, variations to salaries etc)
Developing and maintaining effective relationships at all levels of management
Deputise for HR Director when required
