System Design Authority



Location: Broad Oak, Great Baddow or Cowes - This is a hybrid role - 2-3 days on site but can be flexible



Our Training Systems team:

Atlas Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for a System Design Authority on behalf our prestigious defence client. The System Design Authority (SDA) role sits within the Training Systems team and is responsible for system definition, design trade-offs and decision making ensuring that all areas of the capability being developed are complete, consistent and coherent.

The team provides the technical oversight in developing technologies, designs, integration, validation, acceptance and support.



What you'll be doing:

* Act as the Design/Technical Authority for a portfolio, programme or project to meet the product, service, programme, business and customer needs
* Interface with and influence external customers/stakeholders to shape customer requirements
* Guide the technical design processes and resultant solutions
* Ensure the products meet all contractual, regulatory and legislative requirements
* Provide technical support to the project manager
* Lead internal design reviews for the systems
* Lead study proposals, including report-writing presentations and estimating (system design aspects)



Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

* Sound knowledge and experience of engineering governance
* Ability to understand and propose solution recommendations
* Ensure the balance between technical risk and cost is fully understood
* Experience of designing software-intensive systems



Desirable:

* Experience of training and/or simulation systems design is highly desirable
* A good awareness of emerging technologies
* A degree-level engineering qualification or relevant industry experience



Salary: Up to £62,900 (dependent on skills and experience)
