Pearson Whiffin Education are working on behalf of a secondary school in Dover, in the recruitment of a Pastoral Support Worker. It is an opportunity to join a friendly, dedicated team.

This job will require you to work with students on a 1:1 and small group basis. You will work with students from a variety of backgrounds ensuring that they can fully access the learning offered to them across the school and managing any events of challenging behaviour or emotional need. You will use behaviour management techniques, mediation and have a calming approach to conflict resolution. Your ultimate goal is to reintegrate any student removed from main school lessons as quickly and successfully as possible.

In order to apply for this role you must have the following:

* Experience working with students of secondary school age (11 - 18)
* The ability to calmly manage instances of challenging behaviour
* Mediation skills
* Good listening skills
* Hold a valid in date DBS or are willing to complete one
* Have the right to work in the UK.
