Adviser - Home energy/financial capability

Salary – to £22,934pa - Full-time 37hrs/pw (temporary to 31st March 2024)

Do you want to make a real difference and help address hardship caused by the current cost of living crisis? We are looking for an Adviser to deliver high quality advice on home energy options and help clients to maximise their incomes, manage their money and reduce their need for external support. In particular, this work will involve close links with our local foodbanks, and other agencies providing resources and information to help people deal with challenging times. The successful candidate will start as soon as possible

A good understanding of related topics including welfare benefits, housing, employment and family issues will be necessary in this role, which would be ideal for an experienced or newly qualified adviser. You will help people with their home energy and make welfare benefit entitlement checks for households. You will provide advice and support face-to-face, and by telephone, providing households with the full range of energy advice. A clear commitment to client care and a high level of organisation and self-motivation, along with maintaining high advice quality standards is essential. You’ll have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, confidence, an empathetic manner and a good grasp of IT. You’ll work independently as well as part of the team within Citizens Advice Swale and with colleagues at Swale and Faversham Foodbanks
