A new exciting Transport Planner role is available for an established business with new operations in East Kent.

As one of a team of Planner, you will be playing a central role in creating effective transport plans for customers across the UK.

You will be responsible for:

* Effective management and planning of drivers, through on-going communication and software utilisation
* Controlling and planning an agreed amount of resource whilst ensuring all legal requirements are adhered to
* To ensure the daily plan is completed in real time managing resources effectively; maximising utilisation whilst minimising cost
* Ensure effective planning and systems are managed effectively for efficiency's and output
* Understanding and achieving KPI to include utilisation and costings
* Regularly communicate both internally and externally regarding any issues which may delay deliveries

About you

* Be able to work on your own initiative, with the willingness to resolve complex issues. You should be able to comfortably
* Organise your own workload and will be able to work in an often pressurised environment to meet key deadlines.
* Be PC literate
* Ideally a minimum of one years' experience in a transport and logistics environment.

Salary and Benefits:

* A competitive salary of £28,000 - £35,000 depending upon experience
* Working a 4 on/off day shift pattern of 7am - 7pm
