We are recruiting on behalf of one of our long established client for a Workshop Operative to work in the Fabrication department of an engineering company based in Medway Towns. Your role will involve assisting the workshop section leader in all aspects of carrying out daily production tasks in a timely and efficient way, ensuring that client's needs and expectations are met. You will have e perience of working in a metal workshop environment. Experience of operating machine tools such as Press Brake, Guillotine, Rollers etc. would be advantageous however not essential as training will be provided. In addition to this you will be a team player, proactive and be well organised. Hours of work are Monday to Thursday, 08.00 to 16.30 and Friday 08.00 to 15.30. The position is initially on a temporary basis with an opportunity for permanent employment after a qualifying period, for the right candidate.

You will be responsible for welding, assembling, and fabricating metal components to create high-quality products. Ideally you will have some experience of MIG welding, Stick Welding and Fabrication and have some mechanical knowledge. You will ideally be from a manufacturing background, have attention to detail, with clear legible handwriting. You will be responsible for the marking of the manufactured parts, ensuring products are correctly labelled using etching tools to enable the identification of the castings.
