HOME SCHOOL SUPPORT WORKER
(Non-teaching – Term Time only + 15 days)
Salary: School Scale Point 17-26 pro-rata
Starting point dependent on skills and experience

Term Time 37 hours per week: 8.00am - 4.00pm (Mon-Thurs) 8.00am – 3.30pm (Fri)
We seek to appoint an organised and highly motivated Home School Support Worker to join this popular and successful mixed secondary school. Your role will be to support families whose children are experiencing difficulties and to help them participate fully in school activities.
The successful candidate will be expected to liaise with the school’s Children’s Team and outside agencies, as appropriate, in addition to making home visits.
Key Skills:
• Experience of working with children and families
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and ICT skills
• The ability to mediate, negotiate and problem solve
• A willingness to work with other agencies
Key tasks for this varied role will include:
• Overseeing and participating in Breakfast Club each morning before school
• Girls’ Group – organise weekly activities and topics
• Undertaking home visits (a valid UK driving licence is essential)
• Facilitating review meetings
• Admin – updating student and school databases
It will be essential for the successful applicant to have a clean driving licence
and to be willing to be flexible in their working hours
