Are you an experienced teacher of chemical sciences at undergraduate and postgraduate level?

Can you demonstrate an excellent all-round knowledge of chemistry and chemical sciences and the skills to effectively deliver teaching and materials in this field using a range of media and approaches?

We are looking to appoint a Lecturer to join the academic team within Lifelong Learning on a part-time (0.5fte) and fixed term basis for two years.

As Lecturer in Applied Chemical Sciences you can expect to get involved in:

preparing and delivering innovative teaching material via a blended learning approach in our apprenticeships and associated programmes
setting and marking examination papers and providing support to apprentices and learners
participating in the review of teaching material and the curriculum, and contributing to the design of new modules
ensuring that course design and delivery comply with the quality standards and regulations of the University and external regulatory bodies (OFSTED, ESFA etc.)
What we are looking for in the right candidate:

a BSc degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area
an in-depth understanding of Drug Discovery in the Pharmaceutical industry ideally aligned to Computational Chemistry and/or nanomedicine in areas such as biosensors and diagnostic devices
experience of teaching and delivering computational chemistry and/or nanomedicine content at undergraduate and postgraduate level
evidence of, and a personal commitment to developing, excellence in both teaching and scholarship
