Your new company
We are seeking a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a good rated SEN School in Ashford via Hays Education. The school caters for students aged 11-19 with a range of needs, such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language difficulties. The school provides a supportive and inclusive environment where students can thrive and achieve their full potential.

Your new role
As a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and other staff to support the learning and development of students. You will assist with the delivery of the curriculum, provide individual and small group support, and help with the behaviour management and pastoral care of students. You will also be expected to participate in training and professional development opportunities. This includes Safeguarding training before you start your new role.
The role is to start in January 2024 for term 3, with the possibility of extension. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm. The pay rate is £75-£85 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

* A minimum of GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths
* A relevant qualification or experience of working with SEN students
* A passion for working with young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning
* A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
